Till today, I believed that confidence was something I lacked.
People would say things like:
“Be more confident.”
“Why are you so quiet?”
“You should speak up more.”
They probably meant well.
But instead of helping, those words made me feel smaller.
The more I was told to “be confident,”
the more I felt that I wasn’t good enough.
It made me think something was wrong with me.
But confidence doesn’t grow from pressure.
It grows from safety.
It grows when someone listens.
When someone accepts you as you are.
When you’re allowed to make mistakes without being judged.
Real confidence comes from knowing:
I am allowed to be imperfect.
I am allowed to learn.
I am allowed to grow at my own pace.
So if you’re struggling with confidence today,
please remember:
You don’t need to change who you are to be worthy.
You don’t need to pretend to be fearless.
You are enough, even while you’re figuring things out.
I hope that’s how confidence truly begins.
Till now , I am still trying to build my confidence.
